With Mouseflow, you can globally disable the capture/tracking of keystrokes.

This is useful if you don't want to track data entered into all of the input fields on your website.

When this is enabled, the exclusion happens locally, before any data is sent to Mouseflow.

We have two methods for doing this - depending on whether you want other users to be able to change this setting later (via our user interface) or to make it more difficult to adjust (via a code modification):

Note that all EU accounts will automatically have keystrokes disabled.

Method #1: User Interface

Under Settings, click the "Privacy settings" tab. Then you can click the toggle switch labeled "Disable Keystrokes" and set it to "Yes". Note that this switch is only available for US accounts. All EU accounts will automatically have keystrokes disabled.

Method #2: Code

You can add the following line (in bold) to your tracking code:

var mouseflowDisableKeyLogging = true;

A full example:

<script type="text/javascript">
    var mouseflowDisableKeyLogging = true;
    window._mfq = window._mfq || [];
    (function() {
        var mf = document.createElement("script"); mf.type = "text/javascript"; mf.async = true;
        mf.src = "//cdn.mouseflow.com/projects/your-website-id.js";

Alternatively, you can exclude specific input fields or exclude/replace page contents.
